Game 4

Meco Piledrivers 8 - White Chocolate 5

What do September 19, 1998 and March 13, 2007 have in common. Two sports streaks ended. The former marked the end of Cal Ripken's streak of 2632 games, while the latter ended Caraco's streak of 30 straight dodgeball appearances.

What I know from the game is that Meco dominated. Check later for more details!

Game 3

Meco Piledrivers 7 - DJ Builders 6

DJ Builders has had the Piledrivers number over their previous two encounters. Meco has been drubbed by them (9-3) and lost an overtime game to them after playing to a 6-6 regulation. Following a tough loss to F 'n' A and without The Player Formerly Known as Token (herniated disc) and Rage (late night game) thte odds were stacked against a Piledrivers win. But that is why they play the games.

As the match began, Piledrivers were on top form. The boys from Meco showed off some of their defensive prowess. Toxic Waste caught everything close to hime, Free Agent made several nice catches. Big Bri took the pace off the throws with his size and caught the rebounds. Wolf made an impressive catch on a heater headed straight for his ear. In fact, NY was the only player who did not get the memo that it was a day for "hands team". In fact, NY brought back great memories of the one time (or maybe it was two time) Piledriver Giant with a very feminine deflection.

This is not to say that NY led an offensive charge. His arm was non-existent. The other Piledrivers made up for this led by Big Bri and Toxic Waste. Big Bri was firing cannons and eliminting DJB all over the floor. Toxic was making nice angled throws and doing his part. TJ and Free Agent (PCP) were also responsible for many outs.

After leading for most of the game, Meco let DJ back into the match and faced a winner takes all game 13. In his best contribution of the match, NY sat this one out. Two and a half short minutes later, the match was won by Meco

Some tremendous individual efforts can not go without being mentioned. While Sanford did his part with some very nice catches, he also put his own personal health at risk. In an effort to eliminate one of DJB best arms, Sanford valiantly stuck his tip out to take some of the heat off the ball. Risking herpes and ruptured bag, Sanford made the crucial catch and then laid on the ground and laughed. The Wolf also presented a new strategy. After missing a close range throw, it was the Wolf (without a ball) facing one of DJ Builder's finest (with a ball). The Wolf tried a daring move that only he could pull off. He hit the ground and attempted to steam roll the opposition.

Big Bri had several "employess" there watching his impressive game (and a very impressive game it was). However, despite all the good things he did he will be remembered for two tremendous plays. Late in the match he tried a no look throw to eliminate one of the Builders. It turned into a beautifully soft chest pass that was easily caught. A play that ridiculous would warrant more attention if it were not for the greatest play in Meco history. After a nice dodge, the Big fellow lost his balance and started to stumble. Paddington (Big Bri) is prideful and did not want to go down alone. He grabbed Free Agent (by the good leg) and took him down with him in a tackle that would have made Tom Coughlin proud. Free Agent and Paddington were down in a heap and were both hit by alert DJ Builders. This was followed by the rest of the Piledrivers getting hit one-by-one without any effort to avoid anything while they laughed and pointed at Paddington.

2 wins, 1 loss; 21 points.

Game 2

Meco Piledrivers 5 - F 'n' A 8

An over-confident Meco Piledrivers, riding high on a six game win streak, came into their second match of the new session a little too confident. The results were a very predictable loss to an impressive F 'n' A. However, the game was not without drama as the Piledrivers made the match very intersting with some excellent play from the old stand-bys as well as an exciting opening match for the newest Piledriver.

The early parts of the game seemed to take the Meco by surprise as they fell behind early, 3-0. However, the Piledrivers showed their grit after this and began to claw their way back into the match. Meco continued to trade two wins for one until the had the match 4-4. At this point things started to get shaky.

TPFKAT (The Playa formerly known as Token) went down with a back injury. This left only six Piledrivers for the rest of the match. Even with new member Toxic Waste figuring out theintricacies, it was not enough. Meco simply ran out of steam.

Rage, the Wolf and Waste were all quite impressive with their arms. However, the kis with the white hat from F 'n' A caught everything thrown his way.

THe most disappointing point of the evening came in the last game. With the score 5-7 there was time for two more matches. Meco had to win both to force an overtime match. It was not meant to be. After the lost the penultimate game, there was time for one more match. As five Piledrivers took the floor to play out the game, Free Agent's frustration boiled over... with no chance for the victory he did not take the floor.

Next match sees Meco facing DJ Builders.
